Orthopaedic Surgeons are among the specialists trained to treat multiple trauma victims such as those involved in motor vehicle accidents.  Patients often find themselves involved with their injuries and medical treatment, as well as occupied with complex legal proceedings. Unfortunately, many Physicians and Surgeons prefer to avoid getting involved in such cases due to:

  • the specialized nature of the medical record documentation required,

  • the preparation of detailed legal reports,

  • knowledge of the “Personal Injury Protection (PIP)” Statutes & Insurance Carriers,

  • telephone conferences and meetings with Attorneys, and

  • the abundance of time involved with our system of jurisprudence, such as testifying as an Expert Witness in Depositions and in Court.

Howard J. Rudnick, M.D.
has over three decades of such experience which was originally cultivated during his training at one of our country’s busiest trauma centers - Jackson Memorial Hospital, and subsequently evolved in private practice as one of the founders of the Delray Trauma Center. Dr. Rudnick works synergistically with a variety of Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeons, Spine Surgeons, Emergency Room Physicians, Primary Care Physicians, Chiropractic Physicians, Neurologists, Pain Management & Rehabilitation Physicians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Acupuncturists, Neuropsychologists, etc. We have developed a “team approach” in order to assure the patient of a rapid and complete recovery. Dr. Rudnick possesses the knowledge and experience to manage one’s medical care and treatment following a traumatic event including working with specialists in other fields of medicine, consulting other medical personnel as needed, and referring to other providers as indicated.

We will schedule patients who were involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident as soon as possible, and as soon as is convenient for the patient. It is rare to find a Physician and medical staff who provide prompt, high-quality, medical treatment; and also appreciate the importance of quickly and accurately completing all insurance and legal documentation pertaining to an accident.

COMPULSORY MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (CMEs) · INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (IMEs)

The “Independent Medical Examination” (IME) was renamed “Compulsory Medical Examination” (CME).  Dr. Rudnick has been performing these type of examinations for insurance companies, as well as Second Opinions, Medical Record Reviews, and Peer Reviews since 1986. Over the past three (3) decades, Dr. Rudnick has earned respect throughout the South Florida legal system including Judges, Defense Attorneys, Plaintiff's Attorneys, and Insurance carriers due to his fairness, honesty, and impartiality that has governed his actions as he prepares medical reports and testifies with complete objectivity. In summary, whether Dr. Rudnick has been treating patients, or whether he has been performing an INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (IMEs) / COMPULSORY MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (CMEs); Dr. Rudnick's opinions have always been regarded with deference.
